SRI RAMA NAVAMI ASTHANAM IN TIRUMALA ON MARCH 28 AND PATTABHISHEKAM ON MARCH 29
Tirumala, 27 Mar. 15: The hill shrine of Tirumala decked up to observe Sri Rama Navami Asthanam in view of the festival of Sri Rama Navami on Saturday.
In view of the festival, the Temple priests will perform Snapana Tirumanjanam (Celestial Bath) to Processional Deities of Lord Rama, Seetha, Lakshmana, Anjaneya Swamy at Ranaganayakula Mandapam inside Sri Vari Temple.
According to temple legend, to annihilate the evil forces in Tretayuga, Lord Sri Maha Vishnu has taken the birth on earth as a human being and his seventh incarnation Rama is a symbolic example of perfect adherence to dharma and he is often pictured as the ideal man and the perfect being of the entire human race. He is an embodiment of truth, morality, the ideal son, the ideal husband, and above all, the ideal king who safe guarded the interests of his people with his able administration. Because of all these qualities Lord Sri Rama is revered and worshiped even today by the Hindus spread across the globe.
On this important festival day, Lord Sri Rama will be taken out on a celestial procession on Hanumantha Vahanam between 7pm to 9pm around the four mada streets. TTD has cancelled Vasanthotsavam and Sahasra Deepalankara Seva following the festival.
Later on their return to the temple, the temple priests performs special rituals. The pundits read out “Sri Rama Jananam” in Sri Rama Navami Asthanam, that which takes place near Bangaru Vakili in the night at around 10pm to 11pm.
Meanwhile Sri Rama Pattabhishekam will be observed on March 29 between 8pm to 9pm at Bangaru Vakili. TTD has cancelled Vasanthotsava seva in connection with this festival.
