SRIVARI KALYANAM ENTHRALLS DENIZENS

Tirupati, 11 June 2014: As a part of the ongoing annual brahmotsavams at Sri Prasanna Venkateswara Swamy temple in Appalayagunta about 16kms from Tirupati, the Srinivasa kalyanam organised by TTD enthralled the denizens who were mused by the grandeur of Lord in His celestial wedding on Wednesday.

The special kalyanam which began by 5.30pm with Punyaha Vachanam  lasted for about two hours and concluded with Mangala Harati. The processional deities were rendered celestial marriage amidst the chanting of vedic hymns by the temple priests and performed the marriage to the deities as per the Hindu traditional wedding customs.

Hundreds took part in this religious fete on Wednesday evening in the TTD sub shrine of Appalayagunta which is famous for Abhaya Hasta Venkateswara. (Lord Venkateswara with His divine hand in Blessing Posture).

Later processional deity of Lord Prasanna Venkateswara Swamy is taken around in a procession around four mada streets on Sarvabhoopala Vahanam.

Temple DyEO Sri Bhaskar Reddy, AEO Smt Nagarathna, Temple staff and  large number of devotees took part.
