SRIVARI SEVAKS NUMBERS THIS MAY TOUCHED ALL TIME HIGH-TTD PRO
Tirumala, 6 June 2014: TTD Public Relations Officer Sri T Ravi who is also heading the wing of Srivari Seva Voluntary Service said, that the number of Srivari Sevaks who offered selfless services to the pilgrims in the month of May, touched all time high which is a new record since its inception in the year 2000.
Addressing the Srivari Seva meeting at Asthana Mandapam in Tirumala on Friday, the PRO said, the Srivari Seva voluntary service which was started 14 years ago, has gained popularity in the recent times as the pilgrims who are aspiring to render services to their co-pilgrims in the guise of Srivari Sevaks are picking up day by day.
Giving the statistical report of Srivari Sevaks who rendered service in summer vacation (May 1-31) in the past four years, the PRO said, in 2011 about 339 teams with 6139 sevaks including 2061 male and 4078 female volunteers rendered service wile the same number of teams with 7292 sevaks including 2528 male and 4764 female sevaks rendered service in 2012. Similarly in 2013 about 7538 srivari sevakulu belonging to 355 teams comprising 2298 male and 5240 female volunteers rendered service. But this the figures went to whopping high creating all time new record with 12,864 srivari seva volunteers belonging to 542 teams with 3594 male and 9270 female volunteers taking part in the service”, he maintained.
He thanked all the srivari seva volunteers who offered services to pilgrims with devotion and dedication during peak days also in the summer holidays.
Meanwhile Health Officer Sri Venkataramana also complimented the service of Srivari Sevaks in offering water round the clock to the multitude of visiting pilgrims in outside queue lines, compartments etc.
About 2000 Srivari Sevaks hailing from the states of Telengana, Tamilnadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Maharastra, and Orissa apart from Andhra Pradesh took part in this meeting.
