Tirumala, 3 October 2016: TTD chairman Dr Chadalawada Krishnamurthy today said that Srivari Sevaks were the vanguard of the TTD service to devotees and also a major instrument of sanatana Hindu Dharma pracharam.

Addressing a orientation session for the Srivari Sevaks and Scouts & Guides held at the Asthana Mandapam, the chairman said Srivari Sevaks should take the message of Lord Venkateswara to nook and corners of the country and propagate the same when they go back from Brahmotsavam. A Rs.72 crore Srivari Seva sadanam is being set up at Tirumala to provide infrastructure for training and orientation for Srivari Sevaks. He urged them to utilise the opportunities provided under Swachh bharat program to improve the hygiene and make Tirumala pollution free.

Later the TTD EO Dr D Sambasiva Rao said since inception 16 years ago 6.5 lakh Srivari Sevaks have provided service at Tirumala in various sections. He said to further enhance and fine tune their skills, the Srivari Sevaks were being given crash training under the Sri Sathya Sai Seva Central Trust. During the ongoing Brahmotsavam the Srivari Sevaks will be motivating the devotees at the Galleries of the mada streets during Vahana seva to recite Govinda Namam.

He said the TTD is now conducting surveys to assess the devotees pulse on the services conducted for their benefit and to take corrective measures. TTD has also observed Ramanavami at Vontimetta and also won kudos for its successful participation in Godavari Pushkarams, Krishna PUshkarams etc. The role of Srivari Sevaks in all these events was really noteworthy.

Earlier the PRO Dr T Ravi introduced and welcomed the guests to the orientation session specially got up on the eve of Brahmotsavams. Nearly 3000 Srivari Sevaks and 5000 scouts and guides participated in the orientation meeting.

Among others DEO Sri Vijay Kumar, VSO Sri Ravinder Reddy, Health Officer Dr Sharmista, OSD Srivari Seva Sri BLN Prasad participated.
