SRIVARI SEVAKULU SHOULD SET AN EXAMPLE FOR “SELFLESS” SERVICE

TIRUMALA, DECEMBER 30: Srivari Seva volunteers should set an example for rendering selfless services to pilgrims and should emerge as a strong voluntary service, said TTD EO Dr.D.Samba Siva Rao.

Addressing the Srivari Seva volunteers at Asthana Mandapam in Tirumala on Tuesday, the EO said that this noble service was introduced by TTD in the year 2000 with just 195 volunteers. So far over 5.5lakh sevakulu have rendered their services to pilgrims. “Among them over 3.5 lakhs are women volunteers and remaining men hailing from across 13 states of the country and offering your valuable services”.

Adding further he said, the Srivari sevakulu should enhance their services and should also act as ambassadors for the propagation of Hindu Sanatana Dharma. He said sevakulu belonging to various other professions like doctors, IT experts may also come and participate voluntarily in their specified service areas respectively. “The teachers can come and offer their services also”, he maintained.
The EO said, very soon TTD will complete the construction of Srivari Seva building exclusively meant to accommodate the volunteers in Tirumala at a cost of Rs.70 crores. “We will provide you all amenities, but you should enhance your quality of service and should stand as the right example for our age old verse-“Manava Seve Madhava Seva-Service to Humanity is Service to Divinity”, he maintained.
Meanwhile over 2700 sevakulu hailing from the states of AP, TS, TN, Karnataka, Tamilnadu, Maharastra, West Bengal took part in this meeting.

Earlier, TTD PRO Sri T Ravi briefed the EO about the Srivari Seva origin and its objectives. Assistant PRO Ms.P. Neelima was also present.
