“STUDENTS OF FINE ARTS ARE TORCH BEARERS OF OUR TRADITIONAL INDIA”-EO

Tirupati, 11 March, 2016: While describing the students of SV College of Music and Dance as “Torch Bearers” of the great culture of India, TTD EO Dr D Sambasiva called upon them to enhance their expertise in their respective fields and glorify the reputation of the institution.

Addressing the annual day function of TTD-run SVCMD in Tirupati on Friday evening the EO said, the college is the first of its to be set up in the country exclusively for fine arts, almost about six and a half decades ago. Many stalwarts and eminent personalities have emerged out from this college in the fields of Carnatic music and classical dance”, he observed.

Adding further he said, the college is coming out with an action plan to improve the standards of various subjects including vocal, dance, instrumental, harikatha etc.

TTD Trust Board Member Dr P Hariprasad congratulated the parents of the students who are undergoing training in the college in various disciplines for encouraging their children to take up fine arts as their career.

In his address Tirupati Jeo Sri P Bhaskar said, the area of fine arts is totally different from regular academics since it boosts up the energy levels in individuals to exhibit their hidden talents. “The faculty and students of traditional arts should be role model to others”, he observed.

Special officer Smt Gowtami, Devasthanams Educational Officer Sri Vijay Kumar, College Principal Smt Padmavathi and other faculty, students were also present.
Later the prise distribution and cultural programmes students followed.
