“SUCCEEDED IN PROVIDING SATISFACTORY DARSHAN TO EVERY PILGRIM”-TTD EO

TIRUMALA, JAN 3: The temple management of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams(TTDs) has succeeded in providing satisfactory Vaikuntha Dwara darshan to every pilgrim on the auspicious days of Vaikuntha Ekadasi on Jan 1 and Vaikuntha Dwadasi on Jan 2, said, TTD EO Dr D Samba Siva Rao.

Addressing media persons in Tirumala Annamaiah Bhavan on Saturday, TTD EO said, after a span of 19 years, the auspicious festivals of Vaikuntha Ekadasi and Vaikuntha Dwadasi coincided with Jan 1 and Jan 2 respectively. “TTD has succeeded in providing vaikuntha dwara darshan to a record number of
1,63,080 pilgrims on these two days”, he added.

The EO Complimented JEO and his team of officers and the entire strong work force of TTD, media, police for their efforts and team work in making the major religious event a huge success. “The honourable AP CM Sri N Chandra Babu Naidu, has also congratulated the employees of TTD for successfully carrying out the major task. He also wished to improve the greenery, sanitation, education and medical services in TTD. We will definitely put all our efforts to bring more transparency in all the pilgrim amenity services and give qualitative services to pilgrims”, he added.

Elaborating on the statistical data, the EO said, on Vaikuntha Ekadasi day 78,003 pilgrims had darshan while on second day 85,077 pilgrims had Vaikuntha Dwara darshan taking the total to a record number of 1,63,080. While on first day 3,08,186 laddus and on second day 2,95,081 laddus have been issued to pilgrims taking the total to 5,98,264 out of a stock of six lakh laddus.

Adding further the EO said, TTD has also made a record collection in Srivari Hundi in these two days. On first day the total hundi collections stood at Rs.3,22,16,000 while on second day, the total hundi collection is Rs.2,81,80,000. “Even the occupancy rate of accommodation is also almost cent per cent”, the EO added.

Tirumala JEO Sri KS Sreenivasa Raju, Additional CVSO Sri Siva Kumar Reddy, Temple Deputy EO Sri C Ramana, Annaprasadam Deputy EO Sri Venugopal, Reception Deputy EO Sri Venkataiah, Parakamani Deputy EO Sri Kodanda Rama Rao, OSD Sri Damodaram and others were also present.
