SVVU TO HOLD AKHILA BHARATHA SHASTRIYA SPARTHA FROM DECEMBER 30 TO JAN 2

Tirupati, 29 December 2015: The TTD-run Sri Venkateswara Vedic University is all set to conduct 54th Akhila Bharatha Shastriya Spartha from December 30 to January 2, said the varsity vice-chancellor Prof. K E Devanathan.

Addressing media persons in his chambers in Tirupati on Tuesday, the VC said, the inaugural session will take place on Wednesday by 10:30am to which TTD EO Dr D Sambasiva Rao and Rastriya Samskrita Samsthan Chancellor from New Delhi Sri Parameshwara Narayana Shastry will take part in this National Sanskrit competition.

He said, the Rastriya Samskrita Samsthan was set up in the year 1970 on October 15 by Ministry of HRD for the promotion of Sanskrit.

The VC said, there will be elocution competition in Vyakarana, Sahitya, Nyaya, Sankhya Yoga, Vedanta, Mimamsa, Dharma Shastra, Jytishya. Apart from elocution, Salaka Pariksha, Kantha Patha Pariksha, Vedantakshari, Akshara Sloki etc. will also be conducted.

He said about 500 students belonging to 23 states and 97 sanksrit institutions are taking part in this competition. About 40 expert judges have been invited. The first prize winner will get Rs.10,000, Second prize-Rs.7,000/- and Third prize will get Rs.5000 along with Gold, Silver and Bronze dollars respectively. Those who score over 80% and 65% in salaka will be given Rs.2,000 and Rs.1,500 respectively.
