“SWATCHA TIRUMALA” TO KICK START IN TIRUMALA ON NOV 14

Tirumala, 12 November 2014: The new and innovative programme to keep Tirumala and its surroundings clean and hygienic, TTD is all set to start “Swatcha Tirumala” on November 14.

Briefing on the mode of programme, TTD Health Officer Dr Venkatramana said, Tirumala which happens to be the world famous Hindu pilgrimage Centre and it should also become a role model in cleanliness to the world. To achieve this objective, this programme will be launched on 14th of November”, he maintained.

TTD Specified Authority Chairman Sri JC Sharma, TTD EO Sri MG Gopal, JEO Sri KS Sreenivasa Raju will take part in the programme on Friday by 10am As a part of the programme, the residential areas in Tirumala will be checked to see whether the locals are following the two bin system to segregate garbage or not.

“The green colour one for bio-degradable and red one for recycling waste should be placed at every corner of mutts, hotels, public places, offices etc. ” Orientation programmes in the form of publicity material like pamphlets, posters, short films in SVBC etc will be given to pilgrims, general public, TTD Employees, locals, shop-keepers, hoteliers, mutts etc. in Tirumala. We will utilise the services of Srivari Sevakulu, students in Tirumala schools etc. to bring awareness among the pilgrims and general public”, he said.
