SYAMASASTRY ARADHANA OBSERVED

Tirupati, 6 February 2017: One among the Trinity of Carnatic music, Sri Syama Sastri Aradhanotsavam was observed with great fervour under the aegis of SV college of music and dance in Tirupati on Monday.

This musical fest was observed for the first time by the college taking the call given by TTD EO Dr D Sambasiva Rao to promote the keertans of great vaggeyakaras.

The Akhanda Sankeertana Yagam was observed from 9am to 9pm on Monday. In this 12-hour musical extravaganza, the artistes presented the famous ones including Bangaru Kamakshi, Saroja Dalanetri, Meena Lochani and some famous notes penned by the great saint musician.

Principal Smt Padmavathi supervised the proceedings of the program.

KALYANAM ON FEB 9

The monthly Sri Kodanda Rama Swamy Kalyanam will be performed this month on February 9 in the ancient Sri KRT temple.

Usually this fete is observed on the advent of Punarvasu star.
