THOUSANDS WITNESS 100TH SRINIVASA KALYANAM AT KOLHAPUR
KOLHAPUR, JANUARY 21: Sea of humanity turned out for the 100th Kalyanotsavam performed by TTDs in the temple city of Kolhapur in the state of Maharastra on Saturday evening.
Every inch of the sprawling Pavillion Ground in Bawada has been occupied with local devotees of Lord Venkateswara who thronged to see the celestial wedding of the deities.
The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams with an aim to widespread the Hindu Sanathana Dharma has planned this “Divine Wedding” outside the Tirumala temple not only in the state of Andhra Pradesh but in all major cities across the country. The “Srinivasa Kalyanams” not only
spread bhakti in nook and corner of the country but also promoted spiritual values in masses especially among the youth.
The archakas performed performed the celestial marriage with Homam, Samprokshana, offered special pujas with utmost devotion. Nearly 50thousand devotees have turned out for the celestial wedding of the deities. In addition to this over 42thousand devotees had darshan of
the Utsava Murthis of Lord Malayappa Swamy and His Consorts from 8am till 5pm on Saturday.
The Honourable Home Minister of Maharastra Sri Satej Bunty Patilji, TTD board chief Sri Kanumuru Bapiraju, TTD EO Sri LV Subramanyam, former TTD board chairman Sri DK Audikeshavulu Naidu, TTD CVSO Sri MK Singh, Mumbai Local Advisory Committee President Sri Ranganathan, Members Sri Sameer Mehta, Smt Geetha Kasturi and others also took part
in this mega religious event.
The Celestial marriage has provided a spectacle to the eyes of millions of devotees who converged to witness the colourful wedding ceremony of “Mighty Lord Venkateswara” and sanctified their lives.
