THOUSANDS WITNESS TRIAL-RUN GARUDA SEVA ON SATURDAY

GARUDA SEVA REPLICATED ON AUSPICIOUS SRAVANA POURNAMI

Tirumala, 28 August 2015: As the mega annual religious event of Srivari Brahmotsavams are set to commence from September 16 with the most important event of Garuda Seva scheduled on September 20, the temple management of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams(TTDs) has performed a trial-run of Pournami Garuda Seva on Saturday evening in Tirumala which also happened to be the auspicious Sravana Pournami day.

The procession of Lord Sri Malayappa Swamy adorned with dazzling jewels and in silk vastrams, seated on Garuda Seva, began at 7pm and went off along the four-mada streets in a grand manner.

TTD EO Dr D Sambasiva Rao along with Tirumala Jeo Sri KS Sreenivasa Raju and CVSO Sri Nagendra Kumar personally monitored the security, water and food distribution, Srivari Seva arrangements and made some important suggestions to improve the existing system further during the ensuing Brahmotsavams especially with a view on Garuda Seva. He also directed the engineering officials about the sort of changes to be made in the galleries, entry and exit points etc. to see that no untoward incident take place during the mega event and ensure that the pilgrims are not put to any sort of inconvenience.

Meanwhile Several troupes of artistes performed in front of the procession and bhajan groups performed various art forms. The entire Tirumala ranges reverberated to the “Govinda Namas” uttered by tens of thousands of pilgrims who converged to witness the trial-run garuda seva. All the galleries were filled with pilgrims and the entire scenario re-created the feel of annual Garuda Seva fete.

Ranganatha Ramayanam, Bhajagovindam, Neeti Nidhi and Balabhasha books penned by Sri GonnaBuddha Reddy and Edited by Sri Veturi Prabhakara Sastry were released infront of Garuda Vahanam today by TTD Chairman Dr Ch Krishnamurthy, Executive Officer Dr D Sambasiva Rao.

JEO Sri KS Sreenivasa Raju, CVSO Sri Nagendra Kumar, top brass officials, HODs of various departments also took part in the procession.
