THRAIMASIKA METLOTSAVAM- POOJA TO STEPS AT ALIPIRI

Tirupati, 28 July 2014: A Large number of Dasa devotees on Monday trekked up the Tirumala footpath as part of the ‘Thraimasika Metlotsavam’ conducted by the TTD’s Dasa Sahitya Project.

The devotees, who gathered at Alipiri at 4.00 a.m. participated in the hour-long preliminary rituals performed. Over 3,000 devotees who came from different parts of Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and other places later walked up the flight of steps singing compositions of the Kannada Dasas in praise of Lord Venkateswara.

Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister of AP Sri KE Krishna Murthy performed pujas to the steps before starting their holy trek. Speaking on this occasion, Deputy CM Sri KE Krishna Murthy said, many saints, acharya purushas trekked the foot path route and reached Tirumala and attianed salvation. “Trekking this holy route especially in the month of Sravana is more auspicious”, he added.

Later Tirupati JEO Sri P Bhaskar said, “In Kaliyuga, Nama Japa happens to be the best method of Bhakti to attain salvation easily. The Dasa kritis are one such mechanism to reach the Lord with ease”, he added.

The Dasa Sahitya Project Special Officer Sri Ananda Teerthacharyulu, over 3000 Dasa Bhajan troupes were also present.
