TIRUMALA JEO STRONGLY CONDEMNS RUMOURS SPREAD ON SOCIAL MEDIA ABOUT TIRUMALA TEMPLE CLOSURE

APPEALS TO PILGRIM DEVOUT NOT TO BELIEVE IN FALSE PROPAGANDA

Tirumala, 24 November 2015: The Joint Executive Officer of TTD, Tirumala, Sri KS Sreenivasa Raju has strongly denied the rumoured spread on social media about the closure of Tirumala shrine following rain havoc, which he termed as “baseless”.

Speaking to media persons who approached him to react on this issue in Tirumala on Tuesday evening he said, it is really unfortunate that baseless rumours were spread on social media about the closure of the temple which has created unnecessary panicky and confusion among pilgrims devotees.

“The temple administration of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanms(TTD) has a strong network and efficient mechanism to tackle any sort of problem. Due to unprecedented incessant rains which was witnessed in the last ten days, TTD in the interests of safety of pilgrims has diverted the vehicular traffic through link road near the second ghat road. Our vigilance, engineering and forest officials worked day and night in regulating the traffic without a mark of incident”, he said.

Adding further he elaborated, “Despite that, the rumours were spread on social media which was very unfortunate. We appeal to the pilgrims, not to believe in such false propaganda and rumours. Even we are now repairing the second Ghat road which was damaged a little due to fall of boulders following heavy down pour. This road will also be restored shortly. Hence there is no need for the pilgrims to feel panicky about their safety. We have a very good mechanism to tackle any issue”, he reiterated.
