TIRUMALA TEMPLE GEARS UP FOR UGADI ASTHANAM

Tirumala, 20 Mar. 15: The hill temple of Tirumala set ready for the first and foremost religious fete of Ugadi Asthanam that is being observed as per Hindu Calendar.

From this day onwards, other Ashanams including Sri Rama Navami, Anivara, Deepavali etc., the Nityotsavams, Varotsavams, Pakshotsavams, Masotsavams, Samvatsarotsavams to the processional deities of Lord Sri Malayappa Swamy Varu flanked by His two Consorts, Sri Devi and Bhu Devi are performed all through the year in a grand manner.

Meanwhile, as a part of the Ugadi Asthanam, the processional deities will be seated on finely decorated Sarvabhoopala Vahanam decked in new silk vastrams, in Bangaru Vakili and the Commander-in-Chief Sri Viswaksena on the adjacent side and the temple court will be performed as per Vaikhanasa Agama.

The festival will be carried out inside the temple as per the traditional Telugu Custom only between 7am to 9am.

After performing Nivedana to deities, the Asthana Scholar will render Panchanga Shravanam which deals with the predictions of the year ahead.

TTD has cancelled all arjitha Sevas on Saturday owing to this festival.

The entire temple premises is tastefully decorated with varieties of flowers, rangolis suiting the occasion.
