TIRUPPAVAI ACROSS 230 TEMPLES IN THE COUNTRY-TTD EO MG GOPAL

TIRUPATI, DEC 16:  TTD EO Sri Mukkamala Giridhara Gopal said, the famous verses of Tiruppavai will be rendered in 230 Srivaishnavaite temples located across the country during the holy month Dhanurmasa which commenced on Monday.

Inaugurating the “Tiruppavai Pravachanam” in Annamacharya Kalamandiram in Tirupati he said the entire month of Dhanurmasam is said to be so auspicious and is the divine month for every individual to invoke the embedded spirituality within oneself by offering prayers to almighty during Brahma muhurat. “According to puranas this is the period where Lord wakes up from His divine sleep and begins the creation. Hence those who offers prayers in this holy brahma muhurtam will get salvation”, the EO added.

Adding further the EO said, “Tiruppavai Pasurams” will be rendered every day between 6.30am to 7.30am in Annamacharya Kalamandiram the whole month and invited the locals and devotees to take part in this holy programme.

Meanwhile renowned scholar Sri P R Rangarajan explained the significance of Tiruppavai saying that “Tiru” means related to Divine and “Pavai” means Vrat in Tamil and hence Tiruppavai is nothing but Divine Vrat which was being performed by none otherthan Goddess Herself in the incarnation of Andal Sri Goda Devi who has written this famous verses.

Tirupati JEO Sri P Bhaskar was also present.

Later, EO offered prayers in the temple of Lord Venkateswara in Tirumala during the beginning of “Dhanurmasa” muhurat which commenced by 10.31am on Monday. The Tiruppavai will replace Suprabhata seva in Srivari temple from Tuesday.
