TIRUPPAVAI TO PLACE SUPRABHATA SEVA FROM DEC 17 IN SRI TT

Tirumala, 16 December 2015: With the advent of auspicious Dhanurmasa by 10:52pm on Wednesday, the first and foremost awakening Seva of Lord, Suprabhatam will be replaced by Tiruppavai till January 14 next a in the famous hills Shrine of Tirumala.

TIRUPPAVAI RECITAL:

Tiruppavai is a collection of thirty stanzas (paasuram) written by Andal Sri Godai also known as Nachiyar, in praise of the Lord Maha Vishnu and is a part of Alwar Divya Prabandha , a work of the twelve Alwars.

It is believed that Goda Devi or Andal incarnated on this earth 3102 BC. She performed a wonderful vratham called Dhanurmasa vratham to attain all materialistic happiness along with the eternal bliss.

IMPORTANCE OF DHANURMASA:

The period starting when the sun moves into the constellation of Dhanur Raasi or Sagittarius and until it moves out to the constellation of Makara or Capricorn is known as Dhanurmasam. In Thiruppavai Andal gives a universal call to all people to recite the name and glories or Lord during Brahma Muhurtam.

IN TIRUMALA:

In hill shrine of Lord Venkateswara, in the place of Bhoga Sreenivasa Murthy, Lord Krishna gets all the divine rituals. Every day till the end of Dhanurmasa on January 14 in 2016, each pasuram is recited in front of Lord.
