‘TIRUPPAVAI’ TO REPLACE SUPRABHATAM FROM DEC 17
TIRUMALA, DEC 9: With the advent of holy month of Dhanurmasam on December 16 by 10.31am, the early morning Seva of Suprabhatam will be replaced by Tiruppavai from December 17th onwards and will continue for almost a month till 2014, January 14, the day when this holy month concludes by 6.20pm.
It is a belief in the Hindu tradition that any prayers that are offered to the God during the Brahma Muhurat or early morning before sun rise gives high virtue. For Almighty, 6 months of the year is equal to day (Uttarayana) and another six months are considered to be night (Dakshinayana). Dhanurmasam is the final month on which the night for the Gods ends. So worshipping the God on this timing of Brahma Muhurat is considered auspicious.
RECITATION OF ANDAL TIRUPPAVAI PASURAMS
It is believed that Goddess Andal Sri Goda Devi who has an ardent love and affection towards Lord Sri Ranganatha Swamy (Lord Venkateswara) had written the Tiruppaavai in Tamil. On each day, each Tiruppavai pasuram will be rendered before Lord Venkateswara in Ekantha. In the place of Bhoga Srinivasa Murthy, Lord Sri Krishna carrying butter ball in His hand gets these honours during the entire Dhanurmasa.
