TRAIMASIKA METLOTSAVAM FROM JAN 4 TO JAN 6

TIRUPATI, JAN 2: The three-day Traimasika Metlotsavam will commence from 4th of January and conclude on January 6 said the Special Officer of Dasa Sahitya Project of TTD Sri Ananda Teertha charyulu.

Elaborating on the importance of this programme he said, all the famous saints and sages including Sri Ramanujacharya, Saint poet Annamacharya, Sri Purandhara Dasa and many more trekked the Alipiri and Srivari Mettu foot path routes to reach the abode of Lord Venkateswara. Trekking the footpath routes itself implies the total surrender to Lord and hence all these saints attained salvation, he said.

This festival will commence at Srinivasa Kalyanamandapam located in Tiruchanoor road on Saturday. Over 2500 bhajan mandalis hailing from Tamilnadu, Karnataka, Kerala and Maharastra apart from Andhra Pradesh will take part in this unique religious fete during these three days.

There will be community singing of bhajans by these troupes and religious discourses by HH Sri Suvidyendra Teertha Swamiji and HH Sri Satyatma Teertha Swamiji on the first two days. There will be Sobha Yatra on 4th evening from Sri Padmavathi Ammavaru temple to Srinivasa Kalyanamandpam. While on 6th January Metlotsavam will be performed in Srivari Mettu footpath route at 4.30am.
