TRIAL RUN OF FLOAT PERFORMED

Tirumala, 17 March 2016: The TTD officials have carried out the trial run of Float in Swamy Pushkarini on Thursday as the annual teppotsavams are set to commence in Tirumala from March 19.

In a usual practice, before the commencement of the annual float festival, the Engineering and vigilance officials carry out a trial run for the smooth conduct of the fete.

The float has a capacity to hold about 60 people and operated to float on waters with half a kilometer speed per hour. The officials concerned carried out the trial run with the help of srivari sevakulu and expert swimmers on Thursday in a successful manner.

VGO Sri Ravinder Reddy, AVSO Sri Mallikarjuna, EE Temple Sri Prasad Babu, EE Waterworks Sri Narasimhamurthy, DyEE Sri Rajasekhar and others were also present.

Meanwhile the Teppotsavams will take place for five days starting from Ekadasi on March 19 and concluding on the auspicious Phalguna Pournami on March 23.
