TRIBUTES PAID TO SADHU SUBRAHMANYA SHASTRY ON 127 BIRTH ANNIVERSARY
Tirupati 17 December,2016: The temple management of TTD has paid rich tributes to the live size statue of Sri Sadhu Subrahmanya Shastry, the scholarly epigraphist of TTD on his 127th Birth Anniversary in Tirupation Saturday.
The SVETA Director Sri Anjaneyulu attributed the glory and popularity of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams(TTDs) as a result of the intensive research carried out by the great Shastry.
“Having served as temple Peishkar in TTD, Sri Shastry took keen interest in discovering the literary treasure about the some interesting facts related to the development of Tirumala and other sub-shrines of TTD engraved on the inscriptions and copper plates and carried out a stupendous research work on it. He translated 1167 copper plates, which is a Herculian Task which he had done with commitment. He brought out the facts in the form of several volumes and also brought to light the sankeertans of Tallapaka Annamacharya”, he added.
