TTD CHAIRMAN AND EO INSPECTS DAMS AND GHAT ROADS
RAIN BRINGS RELIEF TO TIRUMALA
TIRUMALA, NOVEMBER 10: With the unprecedented rains recorded in the last 24hours in Tirumala, all the major dams were full to their capacities providing a huge relief to the depleting water conditions in hill town.
All the major dams including Akasa Ganga, Papa Vinasanam, Gogarbham Dam, Kumaradhara And Pasupudhara dams are brimming with full water. waters in Akasa Ganga reached 670 Lakh gallons(full to its capacity) while in Gogarbham dam water level reached to about 2423lakhs gallons as against its capacity of 2833 Lakh gallons and on the other hand in Papavinasanam about 2850 Lakh gallons of water gathered (5240 Lakh gallons). In the twin water projects, Kumaradhara and Pasupudhara about 2600 Lakh gallons of water reached in the dam as against its actual capacity of 5257 Lakh gallons.
On Monday alone, Tirumala has recorded about 300 mm of water which attributed to overcome drastic water scarcity problem in Tirumala. The present water situation will suffice the water requirements of Tirumala for the next one year.
CHAIRMAN INSPECTS DAMS: Meanwhile after inspecting the dams in Tirumala on Tuesday, the TTD Chairman Dr Ch Krishnamurthy expressed his immense pleasure for overcoming water scarcity in Tirumala under which the temple town is reeling under from the past few months. “I thank Lord Venkateswara for showering His benign blessings on to His devotees in the form these rains which brought relief to our quenched throats. Even the Kareeristhi Yagam which we had performed three months ago in Tirumala also proved that the Yagas prescribed in our VEDIC texts have purpose. For next one year there will be no water problem in Tirumala”, he added.
Later he inspected the boulders which have blocked the vehicular movement in second Ghat road along with engineering officials and said the boulders will be soon removed and a permanent solution will be sketched out to overcome this problem.
In Tirupati he inspected the famous Kapilateertham water falls, which is gushing out in full spate from the hills. Temple DyEO Sri Balaji was also present.
EO INSPECTS WATER BODIES AND SRIVARI METTU FOOTPATH
TTD EO Dr D Sambasiva Rao on Tuesday inspected all the water bodies including small teerthas, check dams apart from the major dams to see the intensity of water capacities added due to heavy rains.
Later he inspected the Srivari Mettu footpath route by trekking down the path to inspected the area where some boulders have reportedly fallen blocking the trekking route near 1800 footstep. He instructed the SE II Sri Ramachandra Reddy to clear the boulders at a faster pace for the benefit of the pilgrims.
