TIRUPATI TO BE DEVELOPED AKIN TO TIRUMALA-TTD BOARD CHIEF

TIRUPATI, AUGUST 28: The temple city of Tirupati will be developed on the lines of hill town of Tirumala both spiritually and hygienically, said TTD Trust board Chairman Dr Ch Krishnamurthy.

Addressing media persons in a press conference in SPRH in Tirupati on Friday evening, the board chief said, the board is committed towards the development of both Tirupati and Tirumala. “To develop the roads in Tirupati and towards the beautifivcation of temple city we have released ten crores. Our motto is to make Tirupati similar to Tirumala. Even the centre has identified Tirupati under smart city scheme. There is need to develop a lot in Tirupati for the sake of locals as well multitude of visiting pilgrims”, he added.

Adding further he said, “From the past one year you can see drastic changes in darshan, accommodation, Annaprasadam, Kalyanakatta and other amenities for pilgrims. Our EO Dr D Sambasiva Rao working hard and initiated many pro-pilgrim measures. Today the waiting hours for pilgrims have come down to a great extent. The ability have increased to one Lakh per day, the tonsures have gone up by 70 thousands on a day, Annaprsadam to 85thousands etc. Even the honourable CM has appreciated the developments and asked us to enhance the efficiencies to further extent”, he maintained.

Among the other priorities which he briefed to media, he said, the board is committed to take up the construction of Vakulamata temple in Peruru village, to enhance the existing rates of arjitha Seva tickets, to provide one laddu by reducing the size from existing 175grams to 100grams to each and every pilgrim, commencing current booking system of tickets, filling up of vacancy posts in TTD, re-construction of 1000-pillar Mandapam etc. after negotiating with the TTD officials”, he said.

TTD Trust board member Sri G Bhanuprakash Reddy was also present.
