TTD ERECTS TEMPORARY SHELTERS FOR JAN 1, VAIKUNTHA EKADASI

Tirumala, 26 December 2014: With an aim to provide comfortable stay to the multitude of visiting pilgrims who are expected to throng Tirumala on January 1 to have the Vaikuntha Dwara Darshan on Vaikuntha Ekadasi and Vaikuntha Dwadasi days, the temple management of TTDs have erected temporary shelters at different places in the Hill Town to overcome the inclement weather conditions.

With the instructions of TTD Executive Officer Sri D Sambasiva Rao and under the personal supervision of Tirumala JEO Sri KS Sreenivasa Raju, TTD has constructed 11 shelters at eight different places in an area of around 66,600sq.ft enabling shield to around 6000-7000 pilgrims apart from the existing seven shelters constructed in an area of around 1,24,200sq.ft providing shelter to nearly 12,500 pilgrims.

The existing shelters are located at seven places including the one located in front of Sudarshan Rest House I NC, Near PAC I, DMB road, opposite main Kalyanakatta, Kalyana Vedika, PAC 1 and PAC 2. While the temporary arrangements are being done at cellar floor of new kitchen block at VQC II, near Vikas Rest House, basement floor of Nadakam Rest House, near mini shopping complex at RBRH bus stand, open place near Sapthagiri Satralu, near Govardhan Rest House, near PAC I at CRO and four shelters at Mullagunta area.

These special temporary and existing shelter arrangements by TTD will enable a shielded protection from chill weather conditions to nearly 20thousand pilgrims.
