Tirumala 28 September 2014: Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams today felicitated the doyen of carnatic music Dr Mangalampalli Balamuralikrishna for his life contribution to world of carnatic music and society at large.
At a simple ceremony in the Nada Neerajanam open air platform near the Srivari Temple,Tirumala the TTD EO Sri M G Gopal presented the veteran or Indian classical music with a 10 gms gold dollar, portraits of Lord Venkateswara and also prasadams and theerthams of the Srivari Temple.
Earlier the OSD of Hindu Dharma Prachara Parishad, Sri Raghunath highlighted the contributions of Dr Muralikrishna and said he had conceived over 400 lyrics in Telugu, Kannada, Tamil besides French.
At the event the 84year old Dr Mangalapalli enthralled the audience with recitation of some of his self concieved raga’s like Amruta Varsha( Abala -Gopala), Arabi ragam (Sakala Ganadipa) and concluded with a rendering of Narayana Namo Namo and his pet thillana.
Among others Tirupati Joint Executive Officer Sri Pola Bhaskar, Temple DyEO Sri Chinnamgari Ramana, participated in the event at Nada Niranjanam .
