TTD GEARS UP FOR “BUDGET FESTIVAL” ON JULY 16

TIRUMALA, 14 July 2016: The temple management of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams has geared up to celebrate its unique “Budget Festival”-Anivara Asthanam on July 16.

SIGNIFICANCE OF ANIVARA ASTHANAM

Anivara Asthanam is the annual festival of the Temple Accounts, usually observed in the month of “Ani”(tamil) or Karakataka month(Cancer).

IMPORTANT FETE IN DAKSHINAYANAM:

This is one of the most important annual festivals among the series of festival that are being observed with religious pomp and gaiety every year in the auspicious time while the Sun entering the asterism of Karkataka in the constellation. This is called “Dakshinayana Punya Kalam” in the temple jargon.

The uniqueness about this festival is that the previous year’s accounts of the office are presented before the deity by the principal officers and are taken back to signify that the ‘Lord’ finds the officers fit enough to hold their respective offices.

OPENING OF NEW BOOKS FOR TEMPLE ACCOUNTS:

New books will also be issued for recording finances of the next fiscal. The entire process takes place in a traditional way “Asthanam” which is performed inside sanctum sanctorum near Bangaru Vakili in the presence of processional deities of Lord Malayappa Swamy and His two consorts and commander-in-chief of Lord, Sri Viswaksenulavaru between 7am to 9am.

TTD has cancelled all arjitha sevas in connection with this festival on this day. TTD officials and temple staffs take part in the Asthanam.

PUSHPAPALLAKI SEVA IN THE EVENING:

Meanwhile in the evening there will be the procession of Pushpa Pallaki between 6pm to 7pm. The processional deities will be taken round inside the finely decked floral palanquin along the four mada streets.
