TTD LAUNCHES SWATCHA TIRUMALA CAMPAIGN

Tirumala, 14 November 2014: TTD Health officer Sri Venkataramana today launched the ‘Swatcha Tirumala’ campaign in the world famous Vaishnavite hill shrine.

The Programme conceived as part of the Swatcha Bharat campaign was conducted at the Sri Venkateswara High school, Tirumala.

Speaking on the occasion TTD Health Officer Sri Venkataramana said the objective of the campaign was to spread awareness on hygeine, sanitation and also need to separate dry and wet garbage to residents of Balaji nagar, Hotel owners, Managers of Mutts, School children and devotees who throng the temple shrine. Two separate garbage bins were being set up even in the TTD employees colony of Tirumala for keeping dry and wet wastes. ‘If the garbage is divided into dry and wet wastes at home itself, their treatment will be very easy’ he said dispatching the brand new garbage bins meant for local residents colony.

The students and campaigners cleaned the school and surroundings and later took out a rally to herald the ‘Swatcha Tirumala’ campaign up to the Rambagicha guest house region.

Among others TTD Water Works EE Sri Narasimhamurthy, EE-FMS Sri Subramanya Rao, EE(UDS) Sri Jayaram Naik, Deputy EE’s, Sanitary Inspectors, Unit officers, and other Health Department officials and staff participated in the function.
