TTD nets Rs.1.70 crore on Day-2 ( Oct-6) of Brahmotsavam-2013
- 58,495 pilgrims including 17,760 by foot path
- 58,870 meals, 44, 386 given food in queues
- 20, 852 pilgrims had free darshan
Tirumala, October 7: In all Rs. 1.70,31,802 were collected through hundi and other sales and sevas on day-2 of Brahmotsavam-2013 in which over 51,495,pilgrims including 20,852 had darshan of Lord Venkateswara.
All statistics provided by the Temple department said that 58,870 pilgrims enjoyed free meals while curd rice, sambar rice and pulihara were provided to 44,386pilgrims who were still in queues yesterday. TTD staff provided 53,300 cups of milk, 26,895 cups of coffee and tea and 31,530 plates of tiffin to devotees freely.
Officials said 24.87 lakh gallons of water were consumed, 23,070 heads tonsured, 117,705 pilgrims transported by bus and finally 4687 pilgrims provided Medicare freely. Nearly 3870 Srivari Sevak volunteers served the devotees and TTD publications worth Rs31,762 were sold at the book exhibitions.
