TTD nets Rs.1.98 crore on Day-3 (Oct-7)of Brahmotsavam-2013
- 53,032 pilgrims including 18,542 by foot path
- 61,561 free meals, 43529 given food in queues
- 20, 784 pilgrims had free darshan
Tirumala,October7:In all Rs. 1,98,39,514 were collected through hundi and other sales and sevas on day-3 of Brahmotsavam-2013 in which over 53,032, pilgrims including 20,784 had darshan of Lord Venkateswara.
All statistics provided by the Temple department said that 61,561 pilgrims enjoyed free meals while curd rice, sambar rice and pulihara were provided to 43529 pilgrims who were still in queues yesterday. TTD staff provided 34,660 cups of milk, 30,385 cups of coffee and tea and 29,970 plates of tiffin to devotees freely.
Officials said on Monday 25.93 lakh gallons of water were consumed,26,612 heads tonsured,17,128 (up)and 23,729 (down) pilgrims transported by bus and finally 4958 pilgrims provided Medicare freely. Nearly 3870 Srivari Sevak volunteers served the devotees and TTD publications worth Rs32,732 were sold at the book exhibitions.
