TTD PRESENTS SILK VASTRAMS TO LORD TANIKESAN

Tiruttani, 8 August 2015: In connection with the auspicious Adi Krittika in the famous hill shrine of Lord Tanikesan in Tiruttani of Tamilnadu, about 50km from Tirupati, who is also popular by the names Lord Muruga or Lord Shunmukha, the temple administration of TTD has offered silk vastrams on behalf of Lord Venkateswara.

Adikrittika is considered to be one of the most important festivals in this famous shrine and Tiruttani is considered to be one among the “Aaru Padai Veedu”.

TTD EO Dr D Samba Siva Rao accompanied by Tirumala JEO Sri KS Sreenivasa Raju offered silk vastrams to the presiding deity. He was earlier welcomed by the temple Chairman Sri Jayashankar, Temple EO Sri Sivajai, Local MLS Sri Arun Subramanyam and other officials.

After darshan of Lord Muruga, the EO of TTD said, Adi Krittika is one of the famous religious fetes which is observed by millions of devotees across the states of TN and AP in a big way. “On this auspicious day, tens of thousands of devotees carry “Kavadi” and offer prayers chanting “Harom Hara” which reverberates in the surroundings.

Tirumala JEO Sri KS Sreenivasa Raju,OSD Sri Seshadri, Parpathyedar Sri Ajay and others were present.
