TTD-TEMPLES TO BE CLOSED ON OCT.8 FOR 10 HOURS

TIRUPATI, OCT. 7: Following lunar eclipse on October 8, all the temples under the umbrella of TTD including the famous Tiruchanoor, Srinivasa Mangapuram and Sri Govinda Rajaswamy temples remain closed from 10am till 8pm on Wednesday.

Apart from these main temples, other temples in and around Tirupati and also in Chittoor district including the reputed Lord Shiva Temple at Kapilateertham and Sri Kodanda Ramaswamy temple in Tirupati, Sri Prasanna Venkateswaraswamy temple at Appalayagunta, Narayanvanam and Nagulapuram temples will be closed for over 10 hours.

Tiruchanoor: In Goddess Sri Padmavathi Ammavaru temple, all the arjitha sevas have been cancelled on Wednesday following eclipse. Even the Tiruppavada Seva which will is performed during every Thursday has also been cancelled and will be observed in Ekantham. Meanwhile according to Special Grade Deputy EO Smt Chenchu Lakshmi, the temple doors will be opened after 7.05pm on Wednesday. However, the pilgrims will be allowed for darshan only after 8.30pm till 9pm after performing temple cleansing programmes like Suddhi, Punyahavachanam etc.

In Lord Sri Govinda Raja Swamy temple the early morning rituals including Suprabhatam, Thomala etc. will be performed and pilgrims will be allowed for darshan from 7am to 10am and later the temple will be closed up to 8pm. After performing purification rituals, the temple will be reopened by 8.30pm and pilgrims are allowed up to Ekanta Seva darshan by 10pm.

Meanwhile in Sri Kodanda Rama Swamy temple the early morning rituals and Sahasra Kalasabhishekam will be performed by 6.30am and pilgrims are allowed for darshan till 10am. The temple doors will be reopened in the night at 8.30pm after performing suddhi and punyahavachanam.

In Sri Kapileswara Swamy temple, the temple doors will be closed by 10am and re-opened by 8.30pm. The pilgrims will be allowed for darshan only on Thursday, October 9.

At Sri Kalyana Venkateswara Swamy temple in Srinivasa Mangapuram and Sri Prasanna Venkateswara Swamy temple at Appalayagunta, the temple doors will be closed from 10am and will be reopened after 7.05pm followed by punyahavachanam and suddhi kainkaryams.

TTD will close Annaprasadam activity by 10am at Tirumala, Vishnunivasam and Srinivasam in Tirupati, Annaprasadam at Tiruchanoor following lunar eclipse. The annaprasadam activity will resume only at Tirumala after 9pm.
