TTD TO DISTRIBUTE “GOVINDA RAKSHA” KANKANAMS ON RAKSHA BANDHAN DAY

TIRUPATI, AUGUST 14: In a novel move, the temple management of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams(TTD) has decided to distribute “Govinda Raksha Kanakanams”(sacred threads) on August 29 on the auspicious occasion of Raksha Bandhan across the states of AP and TS.

A review meeting was held in the chambers of TTD Executive Officer, Dr D Sambasiva Rao in TTD Administrative Building in Tirupati on Friday evening.

Reviewing with the concerned officials, the EO said, that Managudi is one of the most important and effective mass programme to reach wide range of people. “This ultimate goal of this innovative programme is to make our youth aware of our rich culture, traditions and the values enshrined in our temples. The sanatana Hindu Dharma Prachara can be done with more efficiency through this programme and we have also succeeded in our efforts”, he asserted.

Adding further the EO said, to massify this programme in an extensive manner, the Govinda Raksha Kankanams should reach all the selected temples in both the Telugu Speaking states within the stipulated time before August 23″, he said.

The EO also instructed the HDPP authorities to utilise the services of the members of Dharma Prachara Mandalis(DPMs), Srivari Sevakulu, Dasa Sahitya groups located in the respective districts to give massive publicity to the programme. “Conduct awareness meetings with DPMs at Tirupati and Hyderabad and see that the programme reaches masses in a big way”, he directed .

The EO also asked the HDPP officials to chalk out a plan to conduct some awareness rallies with students and children on this programme. “Also contemplate some plan of action to see that siblings take part in “Govinda Raksha Kankana Dharana” programme in the respective temples as Shravana Pournami Managudi is observed on “Raksha Bandhan” day which is important for brothers and sisters”, he observed.

Later the EO instructed the SVBC to make informative promos on the programme and give a narration about the importance of this programme with Brahmasri Chaganti Koteswara Rao.

Meanwhile, TTD under the auspices of its Hindu Dharma Prachara Parishad(HDPP) wing will be observing a three-day religious fete, including “Alaya Shobha” on August 27, “Varalakshmi Vratam” on August 28 and “Managudi” on August 29 respectively in around 230 temples including ten temples per district present in both AP and TS.

The preparations for the programme commences with sacred “Akshatha”(holy rice) preparation on August 17 and 18 in HDPP office premises in Tirupati. Later on these Akshata, Kankanams and other puja material which are to be distributed to the respective temple in AP and TS will be placed at the sacred feet of Lord Venkateswara in Tirumala for His divine blessings.

Tirupati JEO Sri P Bhaskar, All Projects Special Officer, Sri N Muktheswara Rao, HDPP Secretary Sri Prayaga Ramakrishna, CEO SVBC Sri Madhusudhan Rao were also present.
