TTD TO LINK UP ALL SRI RAMA TEMPLES IN DISTRICT TO SRI KODANDA RAMA SWAMY TEMPLE

Tirupati, 25 March 2014: In a novel gesture TTD is planning to link up the temples of Lord Sri Rama located in different parts of the district to Lord Sri Kodanda Rama Swamy temple in Tirupati enabling the temples to be a part in the annual brahmotsavams of Lord Sri Rama on a trial basis said TDs Tirupati JEO Sri P Bhaskar.

Addressing media persons in Annamacharya Kalamandiram at Tirupati on Tuesday, over the arrangements for Sri Kodanda Rama Swamy brahmtosavams and Tallapaka Annamacharya Vardanthi Mahotsavams, he said, the annual brahmtosavams in Sri Rama Temple will be celebrated in a grand way. “The people from various villages can take part in this temple and also contribute “Vastra Danam”  during the religious fete. A Ramakoti stupa will also be constructed in Sri Rama Chandra Pushkarini temple where in the Ramakoti namas penned by devotees during brahmtosavams will be preserved”, he added.

Elaborating on the arrangements of the 511th Death Anniversary Celebrations of the great saint poet Sri Tallapaka Annamacharya will be observed by TTD in Tirupati, Tirumala and Tallapaka March 26th to 31st. JEO said as a tribute to the great saint poet who penned over 32000 kritis in praise of Lord Venkateswara, TTD will observe a week long spiritual fete in connection Death Anniversary of the “Padakavitha Pitamaha”. The fete commences with Metlotsavam on March 26 in Alipiri.

“On March 27 there will be procession of Lord Malayappa and His consorts in Narayanagiri Gardens in Tirumala where gosthi ganam by Annamacharya Project artistes will be performed and in the evening there are special devotional programmes in Astana Mandapam of Tirumala. Special programmes are also there in Mahati Kalakshetram in Tirupati from March 27th 31. Apart from these, there will be special programmes in Tallapaka and near 108 feet statue of Saint Poet in Kadapa District from March 27 to 31”, he added.
