TTD TO OPEN UP “EMERGENCY CELL” DURING BRAHMOTSAVAMS

Tirumala, 28 September 2016: With an aim to provide the best possible services to multitude of visiting pilgrims during the ensuing annual brahmotsavams, TTD has been doing elaborate arrangements, of which the Medical Services is also one of the important activities.

ENHANCED MEDICARE TO PILGRIMS

The medical wing of TTD has been providing round the clock services to TTD both at Tirumala and Tirupati and especially during special events like annual brahmotsavams. This year, the TTD has all ready to set up an “Emergency Cell” both at Tirumala and in Tirupati to provide enhanced services to pilgrims.

PILGRIM SAFETY TOP PRIORITY

According to TTD Executive Officer Dr D Samba Siva Rao, the comfort and safety of pilgrims is top most priority of TTD as they come from far flung places across the country as well globe. “So we have initiated some special measures to provide 24X7 services to our pilgrims both at Tirumala and in Tirupati “, he added.

ACUTE MEDICAL CARE UNIT AT ASWINI

As a part of the enhanced services, this year an “Acute Medical Care Unit” will be opened at Aswini Hospital in Tirumala to attend to the emergency services. “We are also setting up a liaison cell at SVIMS for better communication of the referred patients from Tirumala to SVIMS”, said TTD Chief Medical Officer Dr N Vikas.

OTHER MEDICAL ARRANGEMENTS FOR THE ANNUAL FETE

@ 35 Medical officers, 57 Paramedical Staff deputed for round the clock services
@ Apart from two hospitals and five dispensaries in Tirumala, a total of 12 First Aid Centres to be operated at Tirumala and foot path routes.
@ A total of 10 ambulances kept available
@ Specialty departments like cardiology, orthopedic, general surgery, emergency medicine etc. along with an anesthetist deployed to cater to the pilgrim need
