TTD TO PROMOTE LOW COST SHEDS FOR 1000 ANIMALS AT PALAMANER FARM

Tirupati, 10 November, 2106: TTD plans to conduct a national conference in December next to bring national focus on promoting low cost sheds in Goshalas in consultation with goshala trusts from all over country.

Disclosing this after a review meeting of the diary activities of the TTD at his chambers in the TTD admin buildings this afternoon TTD EO Dr D Sambashiv Rao said that a committee comprising of TTD engineering, SV Gosamrakshana shala, Veterinary college and Agricultural college has been set up study the issue and suggest ways to low cost shed constructions at the Palamaner unit.

He said presently there were sheds for about 253 animals at the Palamaner farm and there was need to provide sheds for 1000 milch animals. The TTD has raised a corpus of Rs.78 crores for its Go samrakshana campaign and there was a need to raise more funds for achieving its task.

He said the committee will also explore feasibility of improving ground water potential at the Goshala and also propose ways and means to achieve self reliant and sustainability in the task of protection of holy cow and also increase in milk productivity etc.

Among others who participated in the meeting were JEO(Tirumala) Sri Pola Bhaskar, FAO and CFO Sri Balaji, CAO Sri Raviprasadudu. Principal of Agricultural college Smt Raja Rajeshwari, Principal of Veterinary college Sri S Prasad, and goshala director Dr Harinath Reddy.
