TTD TO SET UP SOLAR AND WIND PLANTS UNDER BOOT SYSTEM

Tirupati, 10 August 2015: In an Eco-friendly move TTD has decided to set up solar and wind power plants at Tamballapalle and Tirumala respectively under Build Own Operate Transfer(BOOT) system in order to utilise the non-conventional sources of energy in a better way considering the increasing demand.

The solar plant would come up in a sprawling 66 acre of TTD land available at Kosuvaripalle in Tamballapalle constituency in chittoor district and would generate 10 MW power that would suffice 38.5% requirement in Tirumala.

On the other hand the temple management is also contemplating to set up a 7.2MW wind mill plant in Tirumala with 3.6MW capacity each at Narayanagiri hill area and Akkagarlagudi in Tirumala that would meet 28% demand in Hill Town.

TTD has already invited tenders for both the mega non-conventional energy projects under BOOT system.
