TTD TO TAKE UP MASSIVE PLANTATION PROGRAMME IN TIRUPATI AND TIRUMALA

SUPPLY A PLANT TO EVERY HOUSE HOLD-TTD EO

TIRUPATI, DECEMBER 1: Taking the call from the state government to protect the ecology, the temple management of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams(TTD) is soon to take up massive plantation programme by supplying plants to each and every house hold in the temple town along with TUDA.

Reviewing in his chambers with the representatives of TUDA, MCT, various Varsities and educational institutions in TTD Administrative Building, in Tirupati on Tuesday evening TTD EO Dr D Sambasiva Rao said, these plants will be supplied to every house hold in Tirupati, Tirumala and in nine mandals which fall under the purview of TUDA before December 15. He instructed the TTD forest and garden department officials to come out with an action plan soon. “There are 90 thousand houses in Tirupati and we will supply the plants from our nursery. Even if there is shortage, we will purchase and supply to every household. I urge the schools and varsities should also join hands in the massive ecology drive programme to save our environs by developing greenery across the city”, he added.

He advised the heads of various educational institutions to involve their students to grow the plants and create awareness among them about the importance of saving ecology through this ambitious programme.

Tirupati JEO Sri P Bhaskar, SE I Sri Ramesh Reddy, TUDA Vice Chairman Smt Madhavi Latha, Veterinary College Principal Dr Eshwar Prasad, DFO Sri Sivaram Prasad were also present.
