“TTD WILL OBSERVE 250TH TYAGARAJA ARADHANOTSAVAMS IN A GRAND MANNER”-TTD EO
TIRUPATI, JULY 26: “The services rendered by the Carnatic legend and Saint musician composer Sri Tyagaraja Swamy is immortal and as a fitting tribute TTD will observe the 250th Tyagaraja Aradhanotsavams in a ceremonious manner which will occur in next couple of years”, said TTD Executive Officer, Dr D Sambasiva Rao.
The TTD Administrative Chief who graced the opening ceremony of the 73rd Tyagaraja Festival in Tirupati as Chief Guest in Tyagaraja Mandapam on Sunday evening the chief motto of TTD is to promote HINDU Sanatana Dharma through the kritis penned by Sri Annamacharya, Matrusri Tarigonda Vengamamba, Sri Purandharadasa, Sri Tyagaraja Swamy and many illustrious souls who dedicated their lives at the golden feet of Lord through their outstanding keertans. “Even we have been observing the Tyagaraja Aradhana from the past four years in Tirumala. Even we have observed the fete in his native village at Kakarla also. And we want to observe the 250th Tyagaraja Aradhana as a “Never Before” event and we invite suggestions from the Tyagaraja Festival Committee as you have been caring out this event from the past seven decades without fail”, he added.
Over the request of the Festival Committee Chairman Sri KV Ranganathan, the EO assured that TTD will continue to support the event. “We will definitely offer our support and you should also perform the Platinum Jubilee event of your festival which will be coinciding with 250th Tyagaraja Aradhana in a grand manner”, he asserted.
TTD Trust Board Members Sri Bhanuprakash Reddy, Dr P Hariprasad also took part in the event.
Later, renowned violinist, octogenarian, Padmabhushan Dr TN Krishnan performed some of the melodious, rare kritis of Tyagaraja Swamy. The entire premises and audience were spell bound to music magic of the string instrument played by Sri TN Krishnan even at this ripe age with same grace.
