TTD WILL OFFER SUPPORT TO MCT TO FIGHT AGAINST DENGUE-TTD EO

Tirupati, 26 July, 2015: TTD EO Dr D Sambasiva Rao on Sunday advocated that the temple administration is ready to offer medical support to MCT to get rid off Dengue freon temple city.

A high level review meeting with MCT, SVIMS, Ruia officials was held in Tirupati in SPRH . During the meeting TTD EO said, the outbreak of Dengue is a serious matter of concern in temple city like Tirupati where the population including floating population is over six lakhs.

Meanwhile Tirupati Municipal Corporation Commissioner Sri Vinay Chand briefed the EO about the measures that are taken by MCT to fight against this dreadful disease. He said, in the next two weeks the MCT will take up intensive publicity in the form of door to door campaign, bulk sms, pamphlets, TV scrolling etc. to bring awareness among people. He also said an excluisve Epidemic Cell number was also started. the number is 88978 33788. The people in the case any suspicion can contact this number and also mail to commissioner.mct@gmail.com, he added.

Earlier SVIMS Director Dr Vengamma said over 1318 dengue suspect cases were registered in 2012 out of which 139 found positive. Among these cases most of them were registered in October-November while in 2014 about 1116 suspect cases were recorded during May-June and 82 cases tested positive. During this year till JULY about 800 cases were suspected out of which 58 cases tested positive mostly in the month of May and all of them were treated”, she maintained.

TTD EO Dr D Samba Siva Rao instructed TTD In-Charge CMO Dr Nageswara Rao to immediately arrange for 250 saline bottles and required medicines to Ruia hospital. He also directed TTD Health Officer Dr Sermistha to take necessary measures in the areas like schools, hostels, temples etc. to check spread of mosquitoes.

The officials of MCT, SVIMS, Ruia were also present.
