TWIN BRAHMOTSAVAM FESTIVALS IN TIRUMALA THIS YEAR _ శ్రీహరికి రెండు బ్రహ్మోత్సవాలు
- ANNUAL BRAHMOTSAVAM FROM SEP 18-26
* NAVARATRI BRAHMOTSAVAM BETWEEN OCTOBER15-23
Tirumala,21 August 2023: Legends say that in the early days of making Venkatadri (Tirumala) as His sacred abode, Sri Venkateswara Swamy had directed the Creator-Brahma to organise annual utsavas for the well-being of humanity.
Likewise, on Shravana Nakshatra of Kanya masa (Aswayuja month), Brahmadeva organised the nine-day festival, which is now popular as Brahmotsavam.
As per Chandramanam, every third year is Adhika month and hence the annual Brahmotsavam is held in Kanya masam(Bhadrapada) and in Dasara the Navaratri Brahmotsavam is performed.
The only difference between the two Brahmotsavams is that in the Navaratri Brahmotsavams, the events of Dwajarohanam and Dwajavarohanam will not be observed.
This year TTD is gearing up to observe the twin Brahmotsavam festivities in a grand manner.
The Salakatla Brahmotsavams will be observed between September 18-26 and Navaratri Brahmotsavam between October 15-23.
The important days in the annual Brahmotsavams are the Dwajarohanam on September 18, Garuda Vahanam on September 22, Swarna Ratham on September 23, Rathotsavam on September 25, Chakra Snanam on September 26 and Dwajavarohanam on the same day evening.
TTD has cancelled the Arjita Sevas of Asta dala Padmaradhana, Tiruppavada, Kalyanotsavam, Unjal Seva, Sahasra Deepalankara Sevas from September 18-26 and October 15-23. Similarly, TTD has also cancelled Sahara Deepalankara Seva on October 14 in view of Ankurarpanam fete.
