TWO-DAY LITERARY PROGRAMME IN SVVU
TIRUPATI, 29 January 2016: After successfully hosting the 54th Akhila Bharatha Shastriya Spartha during December last, the TTD-run Sri Venkateswara Vedic University (SVVU) is all set for another prestigious two-day Literary event on January 30 and 31 in collaboration with Sahitya Akademi, New Delhi.
Briefing the media in the conference hall of SVVU on Friday, the varsity Vice-Chancellor, Prof.KE Devanathan said, this literary programme will provide a platform for the poetry lovers to hear as well to recite the translation works done from regional languages to Sanskrit, a unique work indeed”, he observed.
“Usually we see that the classical work(sanskrit) being translated into regional languages. But here, the works in vernacular languages will be translated into Sanskrit by the translator, which is unique in its nature. Sri N Gopi, eminent Telugu scholar will recite his work in Telugu which will be later translated into Sanskrit by our varsity Registrar Sri Krishnamurthy”, he reiterated.
Later, varsity registrar Sri GSR Krishnamurthy elaborated on the mode of the two day programme. “On first day, there will be “Kavi Anuvadak” programme which commences at 6pm in the varsity conference hall. In this the poetry lovers will be given an opportunity to hear to the poetry by distinguished poets followed by the presentation of poems translated by the translator.
While on the second day, “Bhashantara Anubhava” programme will commence by 10am in the same premises where two poets from Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam will participate in the programme and recite the poems in their respective regional language which will be later translated into other three southern languages by the other poets hailing from the respective states. There will be four sessions in this programme. Dr Chandrasekhar Kambar, Vice president of Sahitya Akademi, Dr K Sreenivasa Rao, Secretary of Sahitya Akademi, Professor Harekrishna Sathapathi, VC of RSVP and other eminent scholars will also take part in this programme”, he said.
Finance Officer Sri Srinivasa Naik, Varsity PRO Sri Brahmanandacharyulu were also present.
