“TWO YEARS TENURE AS TTD BOARD CHIEF WAS A MEMORABLE PHASE IN MY LIFE”-DR CH KRISHNAMURTHY

Tirupati, 26 April,2017: Having successfully served as the Trust Board Chairman of world renowned Hindu Dharmic Centre of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams(TTD) for two years, is the best phase in his career, asserted TTD board chief D ranch Krishnamurthy.

The two year tenure of Dr Ch Krishnamurthy has come to an end on Wednesday and in this connection he held a press conference in Sri Padmavathi Rest House in Tirupati and briefed the media over the achievements and developmental activities taken up by the board during his tenure.

“I would like to thank all of you including the pilgrims, locals, officers, employees, Sevakulu, scouts and media for their support in completing our two year term without a remark in a successful manner. Offering services as board chief in the abode of universal Lord is ultimate for me and I did it with His benign blessings”, he reiterated.

Elaborating on the developmental activities that were under taken during his period the chairman said, apart from providing transparent services of Darshan, accommodation, laddu, kalyanakatta and annaprasadam to multitude of visiting pilgrims to Tirumala, we have also laid focus on the beautification of temple city of Tirupati. We have sanctioned Rs.65cr towards the development of SVIMS and BIRRD hospitals, Rs. 41.41cr towards development of roads, Rs.26cr for buildings and complexes, Rs.10cr for LED lighting and increased the annual grant to Mahila Varsity from Rs.50lakhs to Rs.1crore”, he added.

On the Dharmic front, he said, “We have successfully conducted two prestigious events of Godavari and Krishna Pushkaralu in 2015 and 2016 respectively. The response to our replica temples in these areas is overwhelming. Similarly the Srinivasa Kalyanams in New Delhi, Mumbai, in overseas including Dallas, Newjersey etc.was a grand religious affair”, he added.

Speaking on the employee initiatives he said, “We have enhanced the salaries of Potu workers, contractual drivers, piece rate barbers in TTD. Our efforts to provide the best possible services to pilgrims in all fronts have made us to take a revolutionary step of restricting VIP break Darshan during week ends to only protocol VIPs during summer vacation has resulted in providing more time to common pilgrims. Similarly our IT initiatives enhanced transparency pilgrim services”, he added.

Adding further he said, “We have also facilitated shelter to those dwelling in chowltries at Balaji Nagar in Tirumala and also initiated Darshan for locals of Tirumala and Tirupati on first Tuesday of every month”, he added.
