“VANDE GOMATARAM” SHOULD BECOME OUR SLOGAN TO PROTECT DESI COWS-TTD EO

TIRUPATI, JANUARY 16: Cow is considered to be not only sacred but revered as equivalent to mother by Hindus since ages and hence it is the first and foremost responsibility of everyone to protect desi cows by adopting the slogan “Vande Gomataram”, asserted TTDs EO Dr D Sambasiva Rao.

The Ttd número uno official took part in “Managudi-Gopuja” organised by HDPP wing of TTD for the first time on the occasion of Kanuma pongal on Friday at Sri Venkateswara Gosamrakshanasala in Tirupati. Special puja has been performed to finely decorated Desi cow and calf, elephants and horses in the Goshala premises after performing puja to the presiding deity of Lord Sri Venugopala Swamy.

Later addressing a huge gathering of public on the auspicious occasion the EO said, most of revenue to the country is procured in terms of dairy farming rather than agriculture produce. “Especially our desi breeds including Ongole, Halika, Gir etc. are known for their healthy milch products. Even in our breeds the non-productive cows are helpful to the dairy farmers with their “panchagavya” products which are also very useful to us. There is an urgent need to bring awareness among the public and dairy farmers in particular about these important facts in a widespread manner. And we will take this in a big way with a clear action plan soon”, he added.

Tirupati JEO Sri P Bhaskar speaking on this occasion said, as a part of protecting and promoting desi breeds Ttd has recently acquired 450acres of land near Palamaner.

Renowned scholar Brahmasri Chaganti Koteswara Rao briefed on the importance of cow in Hindu Dharma and said cow is an embodiment of all deities.

Later EO along with JEO took part in Gopuja at Mittamidakandriga, Ganganagunta villages also. Dairy Farm Director Dr Harnath Reddy, HDPP Special Officer Sri Raghunath were also present.
