“VEDAS ARE EPITOME OF INDIAN LIFE STYLE”-H.H. SRI VIJAYENDRA SARASWATHI SWAMY

TIRUMALA, OCT. 15: “Vedas promote Universal peace, harmony and brotherhood and they are the quintessence of the life style of every Indian”, said, the junior pontiff of Kanchi Mutt, HH Sri Sri Sri Vijayendra Saraswathi Swamy.

The seer who graced the Samapanotsavam(valedictory function) of 26th Veda Vignana Agama Vidwat Sadas organised under the aegis of Sri Veda Vignana Pitham of Dharmagiri in Tirumala on Wednesday, in his message said, Vedas are the most efficient and pious literature in the entire world which propagate the righteous way of leading life. “Temples used to be the core centres of Vedic propagation in good olden days. We need to restore this system and for this the Devasthanams should come forward to take up the propagation of Veda Dharma from grass root level by organising Veda pravachans- Jyotisha and dharmic programmes on regular basis”, he maintained.

Addressing the occasion, Mahamahopadhyaya Sri NS Tatacharya said, that over the advice of Paramapujya Parivrajakacharya Sri Sri Sri Chandrasekharendra Saraswathi Swamiji in 1966 during his visit to Sri Kala Hasti as a part of Chaturmasya Diksha, the temple management of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams(TTDs) began organising Vedic Conferences, All India Vedic meets, Vedic Schemes etc. to encourage Veda Vidya. “The efforts of TTD in the promotion and preservation of Vedas is outstanding and I compliment the mandarins for the same”, he added.

Later in his speech, TTD EO Sri MG Gopal said, the showers soon after the completion of six-day vedic sadas itself speaks the power of the great Hindu religious texts and their relation with mother nature. “Vedas are the divine scriptures which originated from the “Vak” of deities. Such is the power of Vedas”, he added.

The EO said, TTD has began Veda Parayanadar Scheme in the year 2010 to encourage the Veda Parayanadars by giving some financial aid to Kramapathis, Ghanapathis and Vridha Pandits located across the country. “Now over their request we have decided to enhance their financial aid and the proposal will be placed before the Specified Authority for approval in the forthcoming meeting”, he maintained. The EO complimented the students who excelled in the Vidwat Sadas examinations. He said TTD is planning for yet another big vedic event of Akhila Bharata Veda Sadas in the month of February during next year.

Sri Vijayendra Sarawathi Swamiji released the souvenir-Shrouta Vivechani on this auspicious occasion. Later the students were given away the prizes.

Tirumala JEO Sri KS Sreenivasa Raju, Sri Venkateswara Vedic Varsity VC Sri KE Devanathan, RSVP VC Sri Harekrishna Satapathy, Dharmagiri Vedapathashala Principal Sri KSS Avadhani and other pundits, students were also present.
