VEDIC UNIVERSITY SHOULD EMERGE AS ROLE MODEL IN PROPAGATION OF VEDA-MINISTER PONNALA _ వేద విద్యా వ్యాప్తిలో శ్రీవేంకటేశ్వర వేదవర్శిటీ ఆదర్శం కావాలి – రాష్ట్ర ఐ.టి., దేవదాయ, ధర్మదాయ శాఖామాత్యులు శ్రీ పొన్నాల లక్ష్మయ్య
TIRUPATI, JUNE 18: The SV Vedic University should emerge as a role model in the propagation of Vedic dharma not alone in the state but in the country said, AP minister for Endowments, IT and communications Sri P.Lakshmaiah.
The minister who paved a visit to SV Vedic university on Saturday evening, addressing the students said, India is the land of Vedas. “Vedas are the symbols of our culture and rich heritage and there is every need to preserve them for the sake of future generations”, he added.
He said the state government is committed to offer any sort of help to enhance the glory of vedic studies. “I wish Vedic university should liasion all the vedic institutions in the country. The other institutions also should take the vedic varsity as role model and implement the activities which will enhance the vedic glory”,he maintained.
The minister said, “In the world religions meet at Chicago, Swami Vivekananda advocated the mightiness of Hindu Dharma and became an icon to youth of the country. Today the Vedic varsity should produce hundreds of such Vivekanandas to glorify the vedic studies globally”, he asserted.
He also felt the need to digitise the age old manuscripts for the benefit of future generations.
Earlier the varsity VC Dr.Sannidhanam Sudarshana Sharma explained the minister about the activities of the varsity.

తిరుపతి, జూన్‌ 18, 2011: భారతీయ సనాతన ధర్మానికి సంస్కృతి, చరిత్రకు ప్రామాణికంగా నిలచిన వేద విద్యను విశ్వవ్యాప్తి చేయడంలో తితిదే శ్రీ వేంకటేశ్వర వేద విశ్వవిద్యాలయం ఆదర్శ ప్రాయం కావాలని దేవాదాయ శాఖామంత్రి పొన్నాల లక్ష్మయ్య అన్నారు.
శనివారం సాయంత్రం ఆయన వేదవర్శిటీని సందర్శించారు. ఈ సందర్భంగా ఆయన వేద విద్యార్థులను ఉద్దేశించి మాట్లాడుతూ ఒక ఆంధ్ర రాష్ట్రంలోనే కాకుండా దేశ వ్యాప్తంగా వున్న వివిధ వేద యూనివర్శిటీలను కూడా వేద సందేశాన్ని అందించే రీతిలో వేద వర్శిటీ వెలగాలన్నారు. వేద వర్శిటీలో చేపడుతున్న పలు వేద పరిరక్షణ కార్యక్రమాలను ఇతర యూనివర్శిటీలలో కూడా ఆదర్శంగా తీసుకొని అమలు చేయాలన్నారు. వేద పరిరక్షణకు, వేద వ్యాప్తికి ప్రభుత్వ పరంగా కూడా పూర్తి సహకారాన్ని అందిస్తామని ఆయన ఈసందర్భంగా ఉద్గాటించారు. ఏవిధంగానైతే ఒక స్వామి వివేకానంద చికాగో సర్వమత సమావేశంలో హిందూ మతం యొక్క ఔన్నత్యాన్ని చాటిచెప్పి భావి భారతానికి ఆదర్శంగా నిలచాడో అటువంటి వివేకానందులను సృష్ఠించడానికి వేద విశ్వవిద్యాలయం కృషి చేయాలన్నారు. నేటి తరుణంలో భగవన్నామ స్మరణను, ఆధ్యాత్మిక చింతనను పెంపొందిచడానికి వేద విద్య అవసరమన్నారు. తద్వారా సమాజ పురోగతి సాధ్యం అవుతుందని ఆయన తెలిపారు. మన పూర్వీకులు అందించిన అపార వేద సంపదను భవిష్యత్తు తరాలకు అందించాల్సిన బాధ్యత అందరికీ ఉందన్నారు. వేద విద్యా వ్యాప్తికి సాంకేతిక సహకారాన్ని కూడా జోడించి పురాతన తాళపత్ర గ్రంధాలలో నిక్షిప్తమై ఉన్న వేద నిధిని కంప్యూటరీకరణ చేసి డిజిటైస్‌ చేయాల్సిన అవసరం ఉందన్నారు. తద్వారా పురాతన వేద విద్య భాండాగారాన్ని మనం ప్రపంచానికి అందించగలం అని ఆయన తెలిపారు.
అంతకు పూర్వం వేద విశ్వవిద్యాలయ వి.సి. డాక్టర్‌ సన్నిధానం సుదర్శన శర్మ వేద వర్శిటీ గురించి ఇక్క నేర్పుతున్న కోర్సులను గురించి మంత్రివర్యులకు శ్రవినయంగా విన్నవించారు.
