VELLAI SATTUPADI UTSAVAM OBSERVED

Tirumala, 27 April 2017: In connection with the ongoing ten day Bhashyakarula utsavam, on sixth day on Thursday, Vellai Sattupadi was observed with religious fervour in Tirumala.

According to this fete, Sri Ramanujacharya dressed in white silk clothes was taken on a celestial procession in four mada streets. According to legend it was on this day, the Sri vaishnava saint draped in white clothes, with the help of Sri Kurattalwar, left Sri Rangam for Melkote in Karnataka and under took spiritual propagation here for over 14 years. To mark this auspicious occasion “Vellai Sattupadi” utsavam observed with religious fervour.

Tirumala Pedda Jiyar, China Jiyar, Jiyangars, temple staffs took part in this fete on Thursday and performed Divya Prabandha Gosthi Ganam.
