VETURI PRABHAKARA SHASTRI 66TH DEATH ANNIVERSARY ON AUG 29

Tirupati, 27 August 2016: The temple management is set ready to observed the 66th death anniversary of Sri Veturi Prbhakara Shastry on August 29.

Floral tributes will be paid to the life size bronze idol of the renowned scholar on the day in Tirupati, followed by scholarly lecture under the aegis of Veturi Vangmaya Peetham.

As a publisher and writer, he discovered various ancient texts to Telugu people. One such discovery includes the copper scripts of Saint poet Annamacharya. As a befitting tribute, TTD established “Sriman Veturi Prabhakara Sastry Vangmaya Peetam” in 2007 to publish his books and research works. A life-size bronze statue of Sri Veturi was also installed before the SVETA Building in Tirupati as a mark of respect to the genius.
