VOLUNTARY TIRUNAMA DHARANA BY DEVOTEES FROM FEB 22

Tirumala, 20 February 2016: TTD has initiated for yet another innovative move of ensuring voluntary Tirunama Dharana by the pilgrim him/herself which will come into effect from February 22 in Information Counters at Tirumala.

The Tirunama Dharana is already existing in VQC I from the past one decade. But some pilgrims have suggested TTD EO Dr D Sambasiva Rao to extend the same facility in other areas also during Dial Your EO Programme.

TTD has began the free voluntary Tirunama Dharana in ATC Information/Complaint counter in Tirumala on Radha Sapthami Day on February 14. After seeing the overwhelming reception from the pilgrims, TTD has decided to extend the same provision in all the Information counters located at GNC toll gate, opposite RTC bus stand, CRO back side, Vigilance office, SMC, RBRH, Asthana Mandapam, Main KKC and VSRH also from February 22, on the auspicious Magha Pournami day.

Significance:

Meanwhile Tirunama Dharana plays a significant role in Hindu Dharma. It is considered to provide protective shield from all evil powers and is a symbol of prosperity.
