WHEN UNIVERSAL LORD BECOMES THE FASHION ICON WEARING TRENDY JEWELS

Tirumala, 25 September 2017: The Hill Lord, Sri Venkateswara Swamy is not only the Universal Lord but also a “Fashion Icon” for setting new trend by wearing jewels made of dry fruits, fruits, pulses etc. apart from precious diamond studded gold jewels.

Sri Malayappa Swamy, the processional deity of Universal Lord Venkateswara who dons several guises, wears garments and precious jewels to bless the devotees during the Navahnika Brahmotsavams, is also a “Fashion Icon” as He loves to wear the jewels made of dry fruits during Snapana Tirumanjanam.

On Monday, the Snapana Tirumanjanam took place in a celestial manner amidst the chanting of vedic hymns by vedic scholars in Ranganayakula Mandapam. When the Snapanam was performed with milk, coconut, honey, turmeric and sandal paste to the deities of Sri Malayappa Swamy, Sridevi and Bhudevi, each time after the snapanam, the deities were decorated with different varieties of garlands, head garments and crown.

Seven such different garlands, crown were donated by one donor Sri Rajendran from Tiruppur of Tamilnadu for the celestial fete. The Monday special attraction for the Snapana Tirumanjanam included the garlands and crown made of rose petals, cardamom, almonds, kuskus, pearls and blue berries.

The entire mandapam is decorated with the exotic orchid, anthuria etc. brought from Bangkok.
