WOMEN DEVOTEES TO BE INVITED TO BRAHMTOSAVAMS THROUGH “SOWBHAGYAM”-TTD EO

TIRUCHANOOR, NOVEMBER 8: “The annual karthika brahmtosavams of Goddess Padmavathi Devi at Tiruchanoor should be celebrated on a grand scale on par with Tirumala Srivari Brahmtosavams and with a special focus on women devotees who will be invited to this mega religious event through “sowbhagyam” programme which is likely to be held on November 15 and 16”, EO Sri MG Gopal said.

TTD EO reviewed the arrangements with Heads of various departments of TTD on the annual brahmotsavams of Goddess Padmavathi Devi in Asthana Mandapam at Tiruchanoor on Saturday. Later briefing the media, the EO said, during the Karthika Brahmotsavams of Tiruchanoor, women pilgrims have a major part to play. “This year we are contemplating to invite women devotees belonging to 100 surrounding villages of Tiruchanoor to take part in the religious event in a big way through “Sowbhagyam” programme. The women devotees will be presented with glass bangles, vermilion and turmeric packets which are the identity of a married woman as per Hindu dharma and they will be invited for Brahmotsavams. This religious event may be on November 15 and 16”, the added.

Later he said, the devotees can also take part in the “Vastra Bahumanam”, where they can present silk vastrams to goddess and a special counter will be arranged outside the temple to receive these donations every day from 3pm to 4pm during the brahmotsavams fromNovember 19 to November 27. The EO said, this time for the sake of the pilgrims, huge LED screens will be arranged on all sides of Sri Padmapushakarini so that the pilgrims can witness the Snapanam of deities during “Panchami Teertham”, he maintained.

Adding further the EO said, apart from TTD Vigilance and Police personnel, the services of around 500 Srivari Seva volunteers will also be utilised during the brahmotsavams to render services to pilgrims taking part in the utsavams. “We have already dispatched posters, pamphlets and other publicity materials to all the surrounding villages and also taken up publicity with “Dharma Rathams” for the event”, he said. The EO annaprasadam will be offered to the pilgrims in the Annaprasadam Complex. Special laddu counters will be set up to market Srivari Laddus during the event. All the vahanam procession will be telecasted live in Sri Venkateswara Bhakthi Channel”, he added.
